At the Avalon Ballroom: The Grateful Dead and Oxford Circle. Art by Mouse Studios. September 16-17, 1966. 19.75 x 14.25 inches.
A printing by the San Francisco Poster Company in the early 1970s. Printed in England from the original plates.
LAST ONE - has some very minor edge bumps on the side.
Regarded by some as "pirate" prints, San Francisco Poster but Company posters are collectible, but do not command the high prices of first printings. SFPC posters always bear the legend "San Francisco Poster Company" in the margins, and in many cases use different colors than the first printings. There was never any intention to pass these off as first printings. This poster, however, does not bear the "San Francisco Poster Company" legend. A US poster dealer purchased the entire remaining inventory of San Francisco Poster Company in the 1980s and had them shipped to the USA. This FD-26 was part of that inventory. I purchased most of my SFPC posters from that dealer in the 1990s.
I have 23 posters from this series, many in very low quantity (less than 10). All are in "unused" condition but may have soft corners, slight foxing, or slight discoloration on an edge. Most are in near mint condition and have none of these issues. I will always ship the best poster available. You can email me if you want to know the precise condition of the poster.
These posters are the only posters in my collection that may not be considered "originals."
