This image, first published in 1968, advertised a series of concerts at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, featuring the Grateful Dead, with the Sons of Champlin and Initial Shock opening. Light show by Garden of Delights. The first printing was of the poster and tickets, but no postcards or handbills. The image was used for the Grateful Dead's AOXOMOXOA album, and the poster is commonly referred to as Aoxomoxoa even though the word Aoxomoxoa does not appear on the poster. The poster was reprinted in 1982, this time with handbills and no tickets. This version is referred to as Jose's Late Night Final. The poster was again reprinted in 2002, this time with tickets but no postcards or handbills, like the 1969 printing. Thus the 1982 printing offered here is known as Jose's late night edition. Wolfgang's sells this poster (without damage) for $345.
This poster has been damaged by water/moisture on the lower left and lower right corners. See photos. There are no stains on the front, and the slight rippling could probably be flattened.
